A tough, coarse-textured, rhizomatous to stoloniferous, warm-season turf grass. Paspalum is adapted to tropical and warm subtropical climates. It forms a relatively open turf with erect leaves and low shoot density, making it highly susceptible to weed invasion. Very drought tolerant due to its deep root system. It does not do well in high pH soils, frequently showing iron deficiency, especially in spring. It is not very shade tolerant.
